Quality of Life

Quality of Life is defined by the World Health Organization as "an individual's perception of their position in life in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns".

The DAF FLAG addresses quality of life concerns impacting Total Force airmen and guardians and their families.  Support through childcare, education, healthcare, housing, employment and policies directly impact how service members and their families view their position in life while serving in the Department of the Air Force.

We believe when service members and their families experience a high quality of life they are able to show up to the fight fully, increasing mission readiness.  When service members feel they are valued and their families are supported they are more resilient.  A DAF culture that communicates the value we place on our service members and their families through thoughtful policies reflecting modern family concerns promotes the retention of a diverse force.
